While the visual overhauls make the game look better, the gamepay changes might take a bit to get used to. You might not even notice the improvements until you go back to the original. The improvements make the game look better, but the improvements are rather subtle. If you really liked SD, then I'd say to get the DE. Whether it's worth it or not is hard to say.
